Journaling platform to amplify “student voice” and boost inclusion, mental health, academic outcomes, safeguarding and independence.
Includmi is a wellbeing journaling solution for young people, enabling them to express their own voice, not through staff, so they develop the confidence and ability to get the right education, health and care support at the right time for their specific needs and desired outcomes.
Students control what is completed; developing their independence and giving them the responsibility to record their views and to have their say. “Nothing about me without me.”

Student voice at the heart of inspection success
Whist includmi’s amplified student voice will strengthen each of the four areas in the Ofsted education inspection framework, it will be particularly relevant to “leadership and management” where inspectors will evaluate the extent to which leaders “actively seek and listen to the views and experiences of learners, staff and parents, taking prompt but proportionate action to address any concerns, where needed”
Education inspection framework, 2023
Pupil voice is a key part of the ISI inspection framework which “places the responsibility of the school’s leadership and management and governance to actively promote the wellbeing of pupils” and “promotes the active seeking of pupils’ views”.
ISI's inspection framework, 2024
Ofsted and CQC Inspectors will be able to draw on includmi’s student voice information to “evaluate the impact of the local area partnership’s arrangements on the experiences and outcomes of children and young people with SEND.”
Area SEND inspections: framework and handbook, 2025
“Includmi technology facilitates early, responsive, and inclusive support that helps reduce the demand and cost associated with specialist education, health, and care services. By identifying needs early and empowering families, professionals, and young people with tailored guidance and resources, Includmi prevents issues from escalating and promotes more sustainable, equitable outcomes.”
Ella Batchelor, Project Manager, Local area SEND, Derby City Council
Includmi incorporates a range of coping strategies to help young people handle anxiety, stress, and other strong emotions - e.g. zones of regulation, cognitive behaviour theory, manifesting, gratitude journalling.
“Derby is using the new app includmi as part of their short breaks framework…enabled them to place the young persons voice at the centre…provides crucial insights...”

Includmi strengthens young person-centred practice by:
giving all young people the same opportunity to access and participate in all parts of school and any alternative provision and extra curricular activities
including the young person, their family and support team in decision making
reflecting and seeking feedback from all involved.
making the ‘young person's voice' and preferences a priority
adjusting and tailoring activities towards the young person's unique needs
planning and designing all aspects of the curriculum to meet the individual needs and abilities of each young person
Ensure young voices and opinions are heard by the authorities and acted on
The problem
1-in-4 young adults and 1-in-5 children and young people have a probable mental health disorder, up from 1-in-9 in 2017. Increasing need for support from children with SEND has seen costs for councils soar and budget deficits forecast to reach £5 billion by 2025/26.
Some mainstream schools are struggling to meet need. Attendance is a concern and too many pupils, especially those with additional needs, are being excluded, with lower attainment rates and higher costs.
Too many young people aren’t able to make a positive contribution. Reducing the number not in education, employment or training (NEET) to the same levels as the Netherlands could generate £69 billion in GDP, such is the enormity of the problem.
Referrals to Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), have risen by 53% since 2019. Average waiting times to receive care is over 6 times the 4-week target, with some waiting 2 years.
